go to the shop where you are going to have the work done and get the paint samples. When I chose the color for my car I had 25 books of paint squares. It took me about 2 weeks to decide. The books that I was using had 2x2" squares of the actual paint (metallic, pearl, or whatnot). You can get a faily good idea of what it will look like. When I found the color I wanted, I scanned the square in and then used photoshop to apply the color to a scan of my car.
